Movie Story

The film follows a similar structure to the original – a safe bet sequel, which to some extent always work. Krish (K V Satish) a happy go lucky guy falls in love with Anandi (Diah Nicolas). Due to certain circumstances both start working on the cure of Leukemia. In this process, Anandi gets to know the secret in Sanjeevani herbs in Kerala. After successful testing at Continental college labs, the herbs in Kerala get destroyed by a sudden fire in forest. To find the herbs, Krish leaves to Manasasarovaram. But things turn around when Chitragupta believes him and gives Bhavishyavani to a human being to rescue Yama from drowning (I know its funny). Krish finds the secret in the book and gets away from Manasasarovaram, starts working on the remedy. Brahma takes away the powers and Yama – Chitragupta starts searching for Krish. Will Krish find the cure? Why is he so curious to find the cure for Leukemia? Does Yama succeed in retrieving the book from a human? forms the rest of the storyline.

PerFormance:-

Yamaleela is Hero Kv satish first film still he have to improve his performance but as a first film this is very best efforts by kv sateesh ,he put good efforts on dancing and fighting stills.any way above average performace .

Mohan babu is an ultimate actor ever in out tollywood .Mohan babu gives good impression on yameleela2 movie with his acting skills.Mohn babu as usually is exemplary in the role of yama.It may be cakewalk for him after that role in Yamadonga.

Brahammanandam complimented him well in the role of chitragupta .and the others ,Rao Ramesh ,Shayaji Shinde,Kota Srinivasa rao,Tagubotu Ramesh have played their parts well. Sada and Nisha kothari sizzled with their glamour in a special song.

Technical Team:

Yamaleela (1994) about a young man (Ali), who finds a book, belongs to lord Yama. Similarly sequel also follows the exact same path as the original, straight down to the comedic situations the trio finds themselves in (Mohan Babu - Satish - Brahmanandam), only with slight differences. Satish works at clinical observatory – He is not so innocent - Brahmanandam misses the Bhavishyavani as he tries to save Yama at Manasasarovaram and Mohan Babu leaves Satish as he cheats his death with commonsense. It even goes so far as to recite at least dozen jokes from the original film verbatim. If it’s possible for a franchise sequel to inadvertently remake the original, Yamaleela 2 has done it.

After an interesting enough beginning, the film fails to draw you in and you are rather detached and uninvolved with the events unfolding on screen. The film comes to life but periodically and the narrative is paced rather lethargically which is surprising as a film like this should have been one hell of a roller coaster adventure. As it is, it is nowhere near so.

While a combination of romance, fun and fantasy in an underdog tale, Masala is too hard to resist for a Tollywood director S V Krishna Reddy, his faulty execution of the already flawed script (even if we leave the logics aside)... That’s make it such a disappointing experience.

The problem with Yamaleela 2 is its slow paced narration; several cringe worthy moments and too many songs. Do we still need 6 or more songs in each film? What a waste of time and money. Visually film is very appealing with vibrant colours, cinematography is good. CG effects in the film are fine and the Art work must be appreciated. The editing was just as unclear and perhaps you can’t spill the blame on the editor as Krishna Reddy presents us one sloppy show that’s such a letdown. Fights in the film are very middling. Production values of Krishvi Films are solid.

NTR following Mega Hero!

Well ,yes NTR is really going to give a big feast to all his fans soon is the latest buzz. But why? It is because it has been a very long time that NTR delivered a decent hit in the industry. It has been a fault in his past choosing massy characters that are more elder to his original age then.

But from Yamadonga he seems to be undergone a great make over his looks and his choice of scripts also. He now becomes a young age boy who seems lovely. But even thought the looks suited the scripts did not get digested to the audience watching their mass hero so cool!

So, putting a comma to mass scripts he is now going to follow Ram Charan who has drastically changed in his characterisation for GAV. So, even NTR is going to undergo another massive make over and may have a hit this time pairing with Puri.

It seems he rejected a out and out mass flick narrated by Koratala Shiva because he wanted to portray himself in a completely new get up. Well, let's hope his secret plan of new look following Ram Charan may work out and put a hit in his list of movies!

Movie Review: CURRENT THEEGA

Movie Review: CURRENT THEEGA (By Hapra)

Rating: 2.5/5

Cast: Manoj, Jagapathi Babu, Rakul Preet, Sunny Leone and thers

Cinematogrpaher: Satish Muthyala

Music: Achhu

Dialogues: Kishore Tirumala

Screenplay-Direction: G Nageshwar Reddy

Producer: 24 Frames Films Factory

Release date: 31st October, 2014

Once again, Manchu Manoj started showing his energy if we have to go by the trailers of ‘Current Theega’. As the film happens to be remake of a well-run Tamil flick ‘Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam’, there are huge expectations. Let us see how it is faring.

The CONTENT

Sivaramaraju (Jagapathi Babu) gets arrested by police for killing his younger daughter and the guy who loved her for eloping. The narrative goes into flash back mode explaining that Sivaramaraju is challenged by a biggie (Supreet) about one of his daughter eloping. Raju (Manoj) is a roam-free workless guy wandering in the village and trying to flatter Sunny (Sunny Leone) teacher. He uses college student Kavitha (Rakul Preet Singh) as his courier. As Sunny stuns him with a wedding card, at the same time Raju saves Kavitha from goons. Finally Raju and Kavitha fall for each other. So, what did they do to get married? Why did Sivaramaraju killed them? That’s the climax part for you.

The EFFORT :

On-Screen:

Manchu Manoj is as usual rocking with loads of energy. He reduced base in his voice this time and tried to act subtle. But in emotional scenes, Manoj faltered again. And he went overboard in action sequences though his fighting skills are appreciable.

Rakul Preet is quite beautiful though she needs to improvise her acting a lot. Being a Miss India finalist, she knows where to tweak her glamour and woo audiences. Looking quite in college girl attire, she has outshined sexy Sunny Leone too. The former adult star has however showcased her talent in a song and then vanished. Probably masses will love her curvy moves, which otherwise do nothing new. Sunny is horrible with acting in her scenes anyway.

Jagapathi Babu looks rugged and this time he delivers villainy, innocence and comedy mixed together. But it looks like such roles are becoming a routine for him. ‘30 years industry’ Prithvi tried to invoke many laughs but succeeded partially. With no good dialogues written for him, how could he make audiences bump out of set with bursting laughs?

Burning Star Sampoornesh Babu appears for one scene, and he delivers his popular ‘dhairyam’ dialogue to bring the roof down to heavy laughs

Rest actors like Vennela Kishore, Tagubothu Ramesh, Dhanraj, Pavitra Lokesh, Supreet (Katraj) and all look regular.

Off-Screen:

Director G Nageshwar Reddy is usual with his conceiving of scenes as screenplay looks pretty flat. For a wafer thin and predictable line like this, maybe he should have fastened the narrative. He extracted some good performances within the boundaries set by the story. If ingredients are poor, no cook could make a delicious meal.

Satish Muthyala’s cinematography attracts us sometimes. He is pretty good in etching colorful visuals with tight blocks and simply lit backgrounds. Manchu Manoj rocks again as fight master and he composed every fight with huge intensity. Achu’s songs are decent, while background score should have been better. This time he reduced regular rock-guitar elements and focused on melody based themes.

The PLUSES:

·         Manchu Manoj’s Energy

·         Jagapathi Babu

·         First Half Comedy

·         Sunny’s Dance Number (For Masses)

The MINUSES:

·         Predictable Narration

·         Simple Scenes

·         Second Half And Climax

BREAKDOWN:

Story wise there is nothing to boast about Current Theega as it’s very simple and thin. But such scripts should be dealt with terrific screenplay and loads of new scenes. Probably Nageshwar Reddy repeated what is there in the Tamil movie and then Manoj has gone overboard to make huge comedy based on dialogues. But the efforts look clichéd as they looked regular. There is no single moment we feel freshness and exciting, except occasional laughs.

Movie starts interestingly as it introduced it key characters like Jagapathi Babu, Manoj, Sunny Leone and Rakul Preet Singh. Loaded with comic dialogues all the way, first half of the movie entertains with many satires, preaching and one-liner punches from Manoj. At the same time, Sunny’s glamour for a while and Rakul Preet’s cute looks for rest of time fill the space. Interval is no mind blowing but well. Loaded with all lighter moments, one may anticipate a tight and interesting second half. Except one duet, rest songs and scenes let you down in second half as film gets predictable and easy to guess. Some messages are delivered, but they need more exaggeration to make audiences feel it.

Other than Manoj’s energetic fights, rest of the film is a lighter vein popcorn comedy with regular story and known setup. As the season happens to be good-time for ‘comedy’ flicks that defy all logics, Current Theega might run for a while until next film arrives. For audiences waiting for something new, exciting and surprising, you’ve to continue the wait.

The FINISHING Line: Current Theega with power cuts and low voltage.

REVIEW : KARTHIKEYA

Bottom Line: A Flat-out Thriller

“Sadanaath Saadhane Sarvam...”
Magnus Cine Prime Banner’s Karthikeya is about a young man whose life is turned upside down when he risks up his life to find the truth behind a temple mystery. Karthik (Nikhil Siddhartha) a happy go lucky guy and he is whizz when it comes to solving mysteries. In the same time, Endowment Officer Shankar (Raja Ravindra) comes to solve the mystery behind Subrahmanya Puram Temple and dies without solving it. Karthik’s life takes a serious turn when he discovers a copy of Shankar’s book on Subrahmanyapuram Temple. He realizes that this book had some links with Temple Mystery. But things turns around when he gets to know about scientific things relating to the temple. The rest of the story is about how Karthik overcomes the curse and reopens the Subrahmanya Swamy Temple.
Everything seems half baked or in some cases completely uncooked. Nikhil Siddhartha looks good, but seemed a bit off playing the mature character. Swathi’s character doesn’t really have much to do, nonetheless she tried her best and passes off as average. Rao Ramesh plays the part with utmost conviction. Kishore is simply wasted in an absurd role. Tanikella Bharini did full justice for his small character. Satya, Praveen and Jogi brothers succeed in tickling some funny bones. Tulasi as sentimental mother is just about okay.
The story starts on a decent note and then manages to grab your attention until the weak and puerile climax. The writer manage the weave a good mesh around the concept, but as it keeps unlaxing the twists turns out to be predictable and lame. The love track hamper the flow of the movie. The romantic part was unwanted and act as speed breakers to the suspense narration. The first half of the film passes by very swiftly, despite the songs. But post interval, Karthikeya turns interesting with the scientific and credulity. And end the film, as we left with message, If we don't understand doesn't mean that the explanation doesn't exist.
Chandu Mondeti as a debutant director looks very promising and surely can be given a benefit of doubt, as the problem lies in the scripting. Some scenes like; Sketchy narration of the Temple’s history, Revealing Animal Magnetism, and Tanikella Bharini - Nikhil’s conversation in the end are brightly shot. His direction somehow, induces life in the film otherwise a dull affair. As a result, even though the films running time is two hours, it seems much longer than that. Punnami Vennala & Inthalo songs are very good. The other songs are fine and do not add much value to the narrative. Karthik Gattamneni’s cinematography is very good. The shots at the guest house deserves a special mention. Editor K Srinivas could have cut short the film by 10-15 minutes. VFX shots in the film are brilliant elevates the flashback episodes. The production values of Magnus CIne Prime are fine.
Thankfully here is a suspense thriller film that stays true to the genre and makes an honest attempt to keep a viewer interested. Okay, so it may not be as polished a product as a Murari or as intriguing as a Anveshana; still the fact remains that when it comes to an overall narrative, director Chandu Modeti has his basics well in place.
Suspense Thriller movies have been attempted in Tollywood earlier, but Karthikeya comes at a time when Suspense thriller movies are as good as extinct in Tollywood. And that’s its USP. The History – in Cartoonish way, Conversations for Blindfaith – Belief, Comparisons between Science and Miracle will surely compel you while watching the film. As the film ends on a note which gives a clear indication of Karthikeya being developed as a franchise with Part 2 in the offering. Its even interesting what the makers have to offer next. All in all, Karthikeya is a different movie with a potentially good concept. Worth a shot.

Pooja Telugu Movie Review, Rating

Bottom Line: Pooja - Tonally messy action drama

Vasu (Vishal) son of G K (Raghuvaran) one of the most respected and among the wealthiest men in Vishakapatnam. Due to some misunderstandings Vasu earns his mother’s (Radhika Sarathkumar) wrath and starts living with his friends at a market place. Accidentally, Vasu meets Divya (Shruti Haasan) in a shopping mall and gets attracted to her. In a short time, both start liking each other but things turn around when his mother calls him to village take revenge on Siganna (Mukesh Tiwari). Who is Siganna? What’s his issue with Vasu’s family? What led to misunderstandings between Vasu & family for four long years? Why did Shivaram (Sathyaraj) support Vasu’s retaliation? Forms the rest of the storyline.
Vishal is very good as the protagonist. His performance is the film's only strength and, to an extent, makes up for the poor script and weak characterization. Shruti Haasan has nothing much to do except rollick around in song sequences. It's also good to see a slimmer, Andrea Jeremiah in an item song. Sathyaraj bowls you over with his performance as the tough ADSP Shivram Nayak. Unfortunately, his role is short-lived, but he does have few powerful sequences. Soori is fine, managing to evoke some laughter from the audience with his senseless one-liners. Radhika Sarathkumar, Prathap Pothen, Sithara, Kaushalya, Jayaprakash, Manobala making up the long list of people who have appeared on screen at some point in the movie. Mukesh Tiwari is nice add on to the film, with his menacing eyes he can go places.
Pooja is primarily a revenge drama with many of the parts: a happy family, misunderstandings, an intelligent villain, and attack on the loved one trigger the revenge, multiple roles trying to take revenge, that accompany the genre. Pooja with a running time of 160 minutes doesnt even carry a single brilliant shot during its entire duration. Till Interval there is nothing significant happening in the film and hoping for the better second half when the family angle in the film rolls on, but there is nothing in it either. Kannal Kannan has choreographed the action sequences well. Priyan's cinematography is average. What the film suffers from is a weak screenplay. The villains are stereotypic, the climax is clichéd.
Director Hari needs to get out of the star based formula films and must try his hand at making some different massy films with the good cast. Movie even has few inspirations from Hari’s previous films like Arul, Bharini, Veghai etc. Dialogues by Shashank Vennelakanti are nitwitted. For Example, “Maa Thatha oka lucha, Maa Nanna oka porambokku alanti yeddavalaku poyina nenu entha buildup evvali”, “Lavanganni market lo konachu love ni ye market lo kontaaru”. Director should have worked a bit more with dialogue writer for better results. Songs by Yuvan Shankar Raja are another disappointment. Background score was decent & showed Yuvan's growth as a music director. The Editing was pretty decent considering how lousy the movie turned out to be. Dubbing of the film is okay, but the one dubbed for Shruti Haasan was too loud. Even limited VFX used in the film is dull. Production Values of Vishal Film Factory are grand.
All in all, Pooja is a felonious waste of time, effort and money. Despite few decent performances by the actors & the technical crew, Pooja fails to create the much needed impact because of a sloppy storyline. If the screenplay had been much tauter, this movie could have gone to become a decent hit at the box office.
When movies like “Raja Rani”, “Bhadram”, and “Indrudu” try to lift the standards of Tamil films, “Pooja” type of movies end up pushing them back by a solid twenty odd years.

REVIEW : OKA LAILA KOSAM

Bottom Line:Routine Boring Fest!!

Oka Laila Kosam begins in the usual Tollywood manner – depicting a self-indulgent hero. In this case, it’s Karthik (Naga Chaitanya), the son of business man Chandrakanth (Suman). Now, Nandana (Pooja Hegde) is the daughter of construction company owner Ramprasad (Shayaji Shinde). Karthik happens to see Nandana and falls in love at first sight. But a few misunderstandings crop up. In the meantime, Ramprasad fixes up the marriage of his daughter with a guy and Nandana decides to break her relationship with him. Who is that guy? Will misunderstandings get clear between Karthik – Nandu? Whether they get together or not, forms the rest of the storyline.
Talking about performances, Pooja Hegde shows improvement from her debut film ”Mask” and you will like her as the adamant girl. Chinmayi has done a fine job in dubbing for her. Naga Chaitanya is as usual a good performer, but doesn’t yet show the mettle to carry an entire movie on his sole shoulders. Shyammala, Madhu are okay. Shayaji Shinde, Suman Talwar, ROhini and Sudha are just lovely, as elegant Telugu parents. Ali made his presence felt as Pandu. Posani Krishna Murali, Josh Ravi even Vennala Kishore were moderate in their cameos. Others have done justice to their roles.
The story (Vijay Kumar) admittedly has some elements and situations that are totally typical. However, the culprit is the sapless and tawdry screenplay with some inanely bromidic dialogues. The problem is that when the story is expanded to a screenplay, the story is a given a routine treatment that is quite typically Telugu filmy, which end up cutting the whole film and the point it is actually trying to make. Though dealing with essentially just 3 central characters, the script is unable to shape them out convincingly and their interplay is not consistent either. Movie even inspired few scenes from Dil, Aatadistha, Lovely, Mass, Nuvu Vasthanante Nenundantanna etc. The romantic track in particular is insipid.
It is in the treatment that the film goes wrong. The director, Vijay Kumar Konda can't get a steady pace for his narrative, rushing through the first half, Karthik and Nandana’s meeting, their tom n jerry fights, the development of their romance, only to lag in the second half. For a rom-com, Vijay also lets the film get a bit too melodramatic in the second half. There's no doubt that the film could have been better edited (Editing by Praveen Pudi).
With the landscapes of Switzerland and Hyderabad in the backdrop, the film’s cinematography by I. Andrew offers quite a few memorable visuals. The music from Anoop Rubens has their trademark touch, and manages to hit the mark. However, one wishes tracks like Oka Laila Kosam and O Meri Janejana could have been used better. While the background score shows desperation to try and bring the film to life but doesn’t quite succeed. Costumes by Niraja Kona are gaudy. Fights (by Vijay-Ram Lakshman-Venkat) deserve a special applause. Production Values of Annapurna Studious are grand.
OLK actually has some obliging situations and interesting pair but regrettably the screenplay and treatment have no idea what to do with them. First half of the film is flat, whereas the drama in the second half doesn’t hold. The outcome is yet another case of “had potential couldn't deliver”, a syndrome that Telugu cinema is blight with for quite some time now. To cut the long story short, “Oka Laila Kosam” starts promisingly, bringing on some grins, but those grins vanish faster than it takes to “say cheese”.
